Treatments

White Fillings

Composite or white fillings are very popular. The material they are made from is a combination of resin and tiny particles of glass. They are very strong and often used to fill small to medium sized cavities.

Crowns

Crowns are used to help restore teeth that have large fillings, on broken teeth and teeth that have been root treated. There are different types of materials used to make crowns.

1. Porcelain Bonded Crowns - these are made from porcelain which is then fused to metal and are very hard wearing.

2. Gold Crowns - this material is mainly used when there is not enough space in the bite to allow for porcelain bonded crowns. Gold is a very robust material and crowns can be made quite thin to fit your bite.

3. Ceramic Crowns - This material is used to make crowns that have a superb and unrivaled appearance and specialist manufacturing techniques are used to create crowns made from this very strong product.

Your dentist will advise you on the type of crown that is most suitable for you.

Bridges

Bridges are fixed restorations that are used to replace one or more missing teeth. They are usually made from porcelain and bonded to the metal.

A bridge is generally placed to fill the gap of one or more missing teeth. The tooth/teeth on either side of the space are prepared and the bridge, including the missing tooth, is cemented over the top.

There are several types of bridges that can be made and, your dentist can advise you on the type most suitable for you.

1. Porcelain Bonded Bridges - porcelain is fused to a metal alloy which provides excellent strength while maintaining good aesthetics. These are ideal for replacing back teeth where the bite force is higher.

2. Adhesive Bridges - These bridges are also commonly known as Maryland Bridges. They require very little preparation and can be fitted to the adjacent teeth and may be suitable in certain situations. Your dentist will advise you if this type of bridge is suitable for you.

Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening is a very popular cosmetic treatment which generally gives excellent results in a short time. It is an effective and non-invasive way to have beautiful white teeth that will provide you with a smile you can be proud of. This treatment can be carried out in the comfort of your own home at a time that is most suitable and convenient for you.

Your dentist will advise you about this treatment item.

Cosmetic Dentures

Most people who wear dentures are embarrassed and wish to keep it a secret. Many dentures can look artificial due to the quality of the materials used and the shade of the teeth.

At Stubbington Green Dental Practice we make high-quality dentures with natural looking teeth and gums. This is achieved by using highly experienced and skilled dental technicians. Together we aim to provide dentures that are durable, comfortable, with an excellent appearance that can help give your face a more youthful look and also help reduce wrinkles.

Hygienist Visits

Your dentist may recommend you visit the hygienist. Stubbington Green Dental Practice has 3 hygienists who work as part of our team.  Their role is to provide you with help and advice on how to clean your teeth effectively which not only promotes good oral hygiene but also your general health too. Of course, they will also clean your teeth to remove the tartar build up that most people suffer from
