Mark Dellafera (GDC 61478): I qualified from Kings College London in 1986 and I worked in Alton until 2008. I have been married to my lovely wife Deborah, for 17 years and we have 3 lovely children. Many people are nervous about going to the dentist - I should know, I was too - so I try and see it through your eyes and hope that I can help you overcome your fears and possible embarrassment and bring a smile back to your face. What I do is to sit down with you, listen to your needs and concerns and encourage you to explore the most suitable treatment for you. I have been told I have a very gentle approach, especially with children but the one thing I most appreciate from my patients is their expression of trust - that I am very proud of.

I qualified from the University of London and the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1994 and have a particular interest in Paedodontics (children?s dentistry), Oral Surgery and Periodontics (gums). I believe in a slow, acclimatizing approach and have experience working with both nervous and dental phobic patients. I moved to the UK in 1980 as a child and grew up here. I'm a very keen collector of antiques, especially coins and an avid reader of British and world history. I have a 10 year old daughter who I am absolutely devoted to and in my spare time I enjoy cooking at home.

I began Dental Nursing as a young, fresh faced 16 year old and loved it so much I stayed! Dentistry is an ever changing profession and there are new techniques and treatments becoming available all the time. My role as Practice Manager is to ensure we remain compliant with all current regulations and support the staff so they can deliver the highest possible standard of dentistry. Our main focus in practice is you, the patient. I feel very fortunate that we have a fantastic and knowledgeable team to provide you with the best patient experience at every visit. In my spare time I enjoy catching up with all the latest movies, relaxing reading a good book, practicing yoga or fussing over my two cats.

I have been at the practice part-time over the last 10 years and encourage our patients to achieve excellent oral health care through preventative dentistry. Regular visits are essential and play a vital role in the prevention of gum disease and tooth decay. The frequency of visits is tailor-made for each individual patient. The treatments involve thorough cleaning of the teeth and root surfaces. I can give advice to resolve problems with bad breath and bleeding gums. I also work with a Periodontist (Gum Specialist) and keep my skills up to date by attending regional and national meetings. I am a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene Therapy and registered with The General Dental Council - I attend study groups and courses required to maintain registration.

I am a dental hygienist of 24 years. My career in dentistry started with the Royal Navy when I was trained as a dental nurse. I was fortunate enough to progress my career by qualifying as a hygienist in 1988; I thoroughly enjoyed my service within the Navy and was sad to leave in 1997. For the past 15 years I have worked in the Portsmouth area, with both private and NHS practices. This is my second time working at Stubbington Green Dental Practice; I originally left in 2000 and returned in December 2010! I love the practice and the patients we are lucky to have. In my spare time I am a keen cyclist and a sports fanatic of which most of my regular patients are well aware!!

I have lived in Stubbington since I was five. I am married with two wonderful grown up children and four lovely grandchildren. I was trained as a dental nurse in 1967 at this practice. I left to have my children in 1973. I returned to the practice in 1989, first as a dental nurse then later I became a receptionist, a role I really enjoy. Over this period of time the practice has had four different owners. This includes the present owners who have continued to make it a very happy practice.

I started my dental career at Eastleigh College where I qualified with my DSA certificate in May 1977. My first role was in a dental practice in Gosport, then I had a career break to bring up my two children. I returned back to work after 10 years to another practice in Gosport but being from Stubbington, born and bred, I was lucky enough to be offered a position on the reception desk here at Stubbington Green Dental Practice, where I am very happy.

I completed my Dental Nursing qualification at Highbury college in 2001 and have worked in several different practices since. I have lived in Stubbington for the past 10 years and joined the practice in April 2019 as a full time dental nurse/receptionist. Dentistry is my favourite subject and when I am not in the practice I am busy running around after my 3 children. When I do get some time to myself i jump straight on the motorbike and stay out for as long as I can!
